Specialist logistics and driver training provider TIR Training Services Limited has landed a major contract with Evander, the UK’s leading property services business, to provide expert training for hundreds of staff throughout Britain.
TIR is teaming up with Evander to train about 340 of its driving staff, based in more than 20 depots throughout the UK. Evander employees will be trained in every aspect of their work, from driving to customer service, as part of Evander’s commitment to providing a first-rate service to its clients in the retail, insurance and banking industries as well as directly to the public.
Evander’s staff will be trained to NVQ Level 2 in carrying and delivering goods as part of the government-funded Train to Gain scheme. Under the initiative, TIR offers employers free training in driving, warehousing, traffic office and administration to ensure staff meet the needs of clients at every level of their business.
Securing this contract with Evander consolidates TIR’s position as a leading provider of specialist logistics and driver training for companies at the forefront of the British logistics industry.
Tim Watson, Sales and Marketing Manager of TIR, said: “This is a partnership in which we’re assisting Evander in providing the very best service to their clients by getting the utmost from their staff. Evander is a prestigious addition to our growing list of clients who realise the value in the training we offer and it’s great to be chosen by an organisation of such high calibre.
“This is excellent news for TIR as it proves we can be relied upon to deliver the same high quality Evander is accustomed to providing for its own clients.”
Richard Tuck, Fleet Manager of Evander, said TIR’s training would help Evander maintain the high standards which have established its unique role in the marketplace as a one-stop shop for property services.
He said: “We chose TIR and this course because of the professionalism TIR has shown and because the trainers can operate within our business without having any major disruption to our staff and our way of working. It just works very well.
“We like all our drivers to have the same level of understanding about our processes and how we should be operating and they themselves can walk away at the end with a great qualification. This training programme shows our clients that we continually strive to improve our workforce to achieve the level of service they have come to expect from us.”
TIR offer training programmes at its own site in Beverley or can dispatch instructors to clients’ premises anywhere in the UK.
Tim Watson said: “Our approach to training is arguably the most flexible on offer. With no shareholders, only trustees, our service is client-focused rather than profit-driven. Working with everyone from local authorities to one-man haulage firms, we are proud to offer the same package and high level of service to all our clients.”
