Aims
- Provide the information required to enable candidates to assess, react and respond effectively in an emergency situation
- Explain the correct procedures for roadside breakdowns
- Highlight the information required by the emergency services
- Assist and provide emergency care
Course Objectives
- Carry out the correct procedures in an emergency (assess, react and respond)
- List the procedures for a roadside breakdown
- State the basic information required by the emergency services
- Apply the basic principles of first aid
Learning Outcomes
The driver will have the ability to assess, react and respond to a roadside emergency. Take temporary control of the situation, maintain safety and if necessary apply the basic principles of first aid.
Assessment
- All candidates will take part in a controlled excercise to assess their knowledge
- Written assessment at the end of the course
Certification
On completion of the course a certificate of attendance will be issued to all candidates and their details will be recorded on the Driving Standards Agency Database (as required by legislation). Candidates who pass the written assessment will receive a certificate of achievement from TIR Training Services Limited.
