Manual Handling

Aims

  • To educate the candidate on the current Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Train the candidate in manual handling techniques

Course Objectives:

  • Be acquainted with the risks associated with bad handling techniques
  • Know how to avoid injury
  • Identify the basic principles of risk assessment and safe systems of work

Learning Outcomes:

The candidate will be able to carry out a risk assessment, implement a safe system of work and carry out the correct manual handling techniques

Assessment:

  • All candidates will take part in a practical exercise to assess their handling techniques
  • Written assessment at the end of the course

Certification:

On completion of the course a certificate of attendance will be issued to all candidates and their details will be recorded on the Driving Standards Agency Database (as required by legislation).   Candidates who pass the written assessment will receive a certificate of achievement from TIR Training Services Limited.
