Safe Loading of Goods Vehicles

Aim

To give the information required to enable candidates to prepare vehicles to be loaded and unloaded safely.

Course Objectives

• Identify the legal requirements for loading
• Principles for safe loading/unloading, use of equipment and security
• Ascertain the importance for weight and load distribution
• Revision of daily safety checks 

Learning Outcomes

• Have an understanding of the legal responsibilities
• Prepare and load the vehicle in a safe manner (including vehicle checks)
• Secure the load correctly
• Prepare and unload the vehicle in a safe manner
• Demonstrate an understanding of weight and load distribution

Assessment 

• Practical loading/unloading assessment
• written assessment at the end of the course

Certification

On completion of the course a certificate of attendance will be issued to all candidates and their details will be recorded on the Driving Standards Agency Database (as required by legislation). Candidates who pass the written assessment will receive a certificate of achievement from TIR Training Services Limited.
