Did you know, Paramedic and Ambulance drivers now need C1?
Before you can take a practical driving test you must apply for a provisional C1 entitlement on your licence. You will need forms D2 and D4. The provisional entitlement is free but the Medical Examination Report you need to accompany the licence application is not. Fees vary from doctor to doctor. We use a local surgery who charges £75, as you do not need to use your own GP.
Once you have your licence returned from DVLA, you can apply for the theory test. We provide study material which can be loaned with a refundable deposit on return. Theory tests can be booked online at www.dsa.gov.uk and follow the link to theory test. You may book a driving assessment while you are waiting for a Theory test appointment, this can be booked over a two hour period and will give you a good understanding of how much training you require.
When you have passed the theory test you can then book your training course. Driver training is conducted on a 1:1 basis so you have a qualified instructor guiding you through your lessons up to the test standard. Lessons are conducted in 4 hour sessions. Lessons normally run from 8am-4pm Monday to Friday but can be booked on evenings and weekends on request. The driving tests are conducted locally in Beverley and the price for the test is £115 which we can incorporate into your quotation.
We have our own 7.5 ton fully liveried Mercedes Atego training vehicle with a manual 5 speed gearbox. We do not need to hire vehicles in. This gives the pupil real experience in driving a full size vehicle. It complies with all current legislation such as ABS and tachograph and comes with a fully enclosed box body.
