Simulator Based Training

Here at TIR, we believe that being a leading training provider means that we should give something back to the industry that we serve and we aim to do this by introducing new and innovative approaches to training. As such, we sit at the forefront of technology and are introducing Simulator Based Training (SBT) as a commercial product available to our customers.

2011 will see SBT become recognised as a viable and valued route to professional driver training in the UK. After forming a strategic alliance with L3 MPRI, we ran a successful pilot programme during 2010 which resulted in proof that SBT leads to positive outputs. L3 MPRI are a recognized global leader in education, training, development and staffing solutions and are part of L3 Communications, a $15 billion organisation based in the US.This method of training is the subject of continued research here in the UK, but the concept has already been proved in the US, with a considerable return on investment.

 For every $1 invested, clients see a $2 return on the bottom line. Dependant on the course you choose, you could see fuel savings, efficiency gains or a reduction in accidents.

Building on L3 MPRI’s vast success in the US, we have incorporated SBT into various training programmes and you can choose from a range of courses (some of which are JAUPT approved) that will deliver measurable benefits to your organisation.Alternatively, you can work with us to develop a bespoke training programme that will meet your specific requirements. Almost any situation can be simulated, meaning that it is the most flexible, adaptable training offering you are likely to find. For example, how can you train your drivers to deal with a tyre blow out? The Simulator allows us to put drivers in extreme situations that cannot be created safely or cost effectively in real life.
